Introduction to Omnitive Administration

A Omnitive Search Administrator needs to do the following: 1. Install and deploy Omnitive Search i. Install the supporting required software such as Java, MySQL, Elasticsearch and Tomcat to set up the environment to support TAIGER Search. ii. Install and deploy Omnitive Search Components. 2. Use Omnitive Search user interface to i. Manage connectors to data repositories, ii. Manage search indexes, iii. Manage users, and iv. Manage ontology 3. Perform backup of Omnitive Search components and restore them when needed. 4. Maintain Omnitive Search by re-indexing the search index and update Omnitive Search packages when needed.

Introduction to Omnitive Search Environment

Omnitive Search is an enterprise search engine tool that utilizes the meaning of information to 1. Provide more accurate search results, 2. Understand user queries, 3. Relate contents, 4. Expand searches, and 5. Retrieve the corresponding knowledge more efficiently and precisely. A Omnitive Search instance is based on a multi-tier architecture model. The components are divided into logical layers and deployed into the following containers and nodes with different software requirements as shown in Figure 2.

Introduction to Omnitive Search Web Administration

After installing and deploying the Omnitive Search, the administrator has to setup the following using Omnitive Search Web user interface: 1. Create and configure the connectors to connect data repository for searching, 2. Ingest the indices to load the data from the connectors, 3. Schedule indexing/sync to update the index with new data, 4. Select one search index out of two search indexes, and 5. Add users (if required). The following are required to access the Omnitive Search Administration Web user interface: 1. Web Browser: Internet Explorer 9 and above; Mozilla Firefox 32 and above; Chrome 35 and above; Apple Safari 6 and above. 2. Network connectivity with your organisation network where your servers are installed.

Introduction to Omnitive Search Admin Toolkits

The Admin Toolkits feature in the Omnitive Search Dashboard allows easy access to the Administrative Features. The Admin Toolkits offers: 1. Omnitive Graph 2. Connector Manager 3. Search Configuration 4. Document Settings Manager 5. Automatic Entity Recognition 6. Search UI Catalog
